The interdisciplinary nature of the research has necessitated and produced collaborations with other faculty and research groups at the University of Waterloo. The major collaborations include:
The director of the CIRFE Center, Prof. Raafat Mansour is also a member of the Microwave and Photonic Group at the University of Waterloo. He maintains a high level of collaborations with Prof. A. Safavi-Naeini and Prof. S. Chaudhuri, the other two members of the Microwave and Photonic Group, through joint supervision of graduate students and collective pooling of resources.
Collaborations with Prof. S. Sivoththaman who has been a strong contributing partner in the development of fabrication processes for the CIRFE Center clean room.
Collaborations with Prof. A. Nathan and Prof. J. Hamel through pooling of resources.
Collaborations with Prof. A. Khajepour and F. Golangraghi in the area of thermal and mechanical design of MEMS circuits and through the use of mechanical engineering labs.
Collaborations with Prof. R. Gorbet in the area of Shape Memory Alloy and Prof. M. Salama and Prof. E. El-Saadany in the areas of power protection and micro power generation.
